An introduction to the discipline and creative process of acting with emphasis on formal and improvisational techniques for developing vocal, physical and analytical skills.
TPP 2190 - Rehearsal and Performance I (1 Credits )
Production workshop for various areas of theater performance, including acting, directing, technical production, design, and theater management.
TPP 2220 - Audition Techniques (3 Credits )
Explores audition techniques for stage and screen. Students will be better prepared to audition in all professional settings.

TPP 2250 - Intro to Musical Theatre (3 Credits )
This course provides an introduction to the disciplinary knowledge and practical skills required for the aspiring musical theatre performer.
Prerequisite(s): TPP 2100 (may be taken concurrently)

Scene study and intermediate characterization.

TPP 3164 - The Actor's Instrument (3 Credits )
An exploration of voice and movement techniques for the stage. Students will be exposed to a variety of approaches to strengthen their vocal and physical performance skills.
TPP 3193 - Acting Lab (1 Credits )
Students in this course will work with students in the Directing course on student-directed scenes, building off of foundations learned in Acting I as well as material from the co-requisite Scene Study course.

TPP 3251 - Fund. of Music Theatre Acting (3 Credits )
This course explores the fundamentals of acting in song, with an emphasis on developing the ability to analyze, interpret, prepare, and perform roles in a variety of musical theatre styles and genres.
TPP 3264 - Acting for the Camera (3 Credits )
Techniques and principles of acting for television and motion pictures.
TPP 3293 - Devising Performance (3 Credits )
An experimental laboratory for students to build ensemble, improv and creative generating skills in preparation for Scripting the Devised Performance. Each devised project will be a unique partnership with different community groups.
TPP 3310 - Play Directing I (3 Credits )
Theoretical and practical approach to directing for the stage.
TPP 3600 - Playwriting (3 Credits )
An introduction to the writing of the one-act play. Students will study short works by prominent contemporary playwrights and develop their own material. They will be encouraged to explore a variety of styles and techniques.
TPP 3790 - The Voiceover Artist (3 Credits )
A practical course in voice and speech training for recorded and broadcast media, with an emphasis on storytelling, diction, and microphone technique.
TPP 4143 - Acting Styles (3 Credits )
This course will focus on a chosen acting style or styles from a larger collection of available styles within the discipline.
TPP 4155 - Scene Study (3 Credits )
This course is designed to give students an opportunity to apply and further develop skills gained in Acting I by working with other actors in prepared scenes. Students in this course will work with students in the Directing course on student-directed scenes.

Advanced competency in theoretical and practical approach to directing for the stage.

TPP 4601 - Creating New Theatre (3 Credits )
An advanced competency course in developing new creative works. Focus of new works may include dance, movement, scripts, performance, transmedia, applied theatre, and will rotate dependent on faculty expertise.
TPP 4930 - Special Topics in Theatre Perf (1-3 Credits )
Lecture, seminar or studio sessions covering selected topics of interest in performance skills.
TPP 4940 - Internship in Thtr Performance (1-3 Credits )
Internship in theatre, film or television or media production. Emphasis on applied learning and vocational experience in the field.
