The purpose of the course is to study psychology and its interactions with the legal system. Psychologists have become increasingly involved in legal issues such as the prediction of violence, insanity, competency, jury selection and size, and the reliability of witnesses.

SOP 4758  -  Psychology of Terrorism  (3 Credits )  
Terrorism is a challenging issue that defies easy explanation. This class covers classic and contemporary approaches to the psychology of terrorism and draws on empirical research to provide a comprehensive understanding of the psychology of terrorism, including its motivations, behaviors, and sociocognitive processes.
Prerequisite(s): PSY 2012 and SOP 4004 or SOP 4935 (may be taken concurrently)  
SOP 4777  -  Psychology of Human Sexuality  (3 Credits )  
This is an advanced course designed to introduce students to the scientific study of human sexuality. The variety of topics covered each semester will differ based on student choices of sexual topics and psychological theories.

Selected topics in social psychology provides opportunities for in-depth study of topics related to social psychology that are not covered in other courses.

SOP 4935  -  Social Cognition  (3 Credits )  
Social Cognition focuses on the area of psychology that deals with how cognition interacts with the social world. The course will focus on examining main topics within social psychology through a cognitive perspective.
