Public Policy (PUP)

An introduction to the analysis, administration, and politics of public policy at the state and local levels of government.

This course familiarizes students with how and why American policy making processes function the way they do, as well as with the ways in which administrative processes affect policy. Examines substantive policy areas to illustrate policy concepts and processes.

Examines the development and implementation of international environmental policies. Theoretical perspectives on problems of the international environment are applied to several major policy controversies.

This course explores medical politics and policy from Political Science and interdisciplinary social science perspectives, doing so at both the national and international levels. In addition, it explores the ethical dimensions of medical politics and policy.

Examination of a specific topic within public policy. Topics may vary depending on instructor. Prerequisites: prior completion of ENC 1002 with a minimum grade of C.
