MAE 4152 - Math Methods: Grades 6-12 (3 Credits )

MAE 4310 - Math Content & Processes (3 Credits )
Examines effective methods, materials, and learning theories for teaching elementary mathematics. Emphasizes the use of active, developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to promote mathematical understanding.
MAE 4940 - Internship: Mathematics Educ. (9 Credits )
Provides a supervised final internship where candidates refine and demonstrate effective instructional and classroom management practices. Emphasizes full participation in the teacher role in school or agency-based placements.

MAE 6115 - Trends in Math Instruction (3 Credits )
Explores current research, theory, and reform efforts in K through 12 mathematics education. Candidates investigate a selected issue or trend in mathematics teaching and communicate findings using appropriate digital tools for professional dissemination.
MAE 6336 - Math Methods: 6-12 (3 Credits )
Prepares teacher candidates to design, deliver, and assess effective mathematics instruction in grades 6 through 12. Emphasizes the use of standards-aligned strategies, conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and multiple representations to support student learning. Candidates explore instructional planning, problem-solving, mathematical discourse, and the integration of technology in secondary math classrooms.
MAE 6927 - Selected Topics in Tch Math (1-4 Credits )
Each topic is a course under the supervision of a faculty member. The title and content will vary according to the topic and the number of hours.
