MAE 4152  -  Math Methods: 6-12 Grades  (3 Credits )  
Instructional strategies and materials that are vital elements of the teacher's knowledge base for making curricular decisions. Survey techniques and materials unique to math, grades 6-12.
MAE 4310  -  Math Content & Processes  (3 Credits )  
Examines effective methods, materials, and learning theories for teaching elementary mathematics. Emphasizes the use of active, developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to promote mathematical understanding.
Prerequisite(s): EDG 3323 (may be taken concurrently) and EDF 4112 (may be taken concurrently)  
MAE 4940  -  Internship: Mathematics Educ.  (9 Credits )  
Provides a supervised final internship where candidates refine and demonstrate effective instructional and classroom management practices. Emphasizes full participation in the teacher role in school or agency-based placements.

MAE 4942  -  Integr Field Experience: Math  (3 Credits )  
Provides a supervised field experience where candidates observe instruction and begin to demonstrate teaching practices. Emphasizes gradual assumption of instructional responsibilities in school or agency-based placements.
Prerequisite(s): MAE 4152 and EDF 3253 and RED 4350

MAE 6115  -  Trends in Math Instruction  (3 Credits )  
Students investigate the implications of current theory, research, and issues related to a topic of their choice in the field of mathematics education and communicate their findings through appropriate web-based media.
MAE 6336  -  Math Med: 6-12  (3 Credits )  
Methods of teaching mathematics middle school and senior high school, addressing strategies for teaching adolescents, curriculum adaptation for special needs students, adaptations for LEP learners, and current literature for teaching mathematics. Special emphasis on real world applications, state and national standards.
MAE 6927  -  Selected Topics in Tch Math  (1-4 Credits )  
Each topic is a course under the supervision of a faculty member. The title and content will vary according to the topic and the number of hours.
