French Culture/Translat (FRT)

FRT 3140  -  Francophone Masterworks  (3 Credits )  
May include a survey covering texts from the Middle Ages to the Present or may focus on a particular period, genre, or topic. This course will be taught in English.
FRT 3550  -  Faces of France  (3 Credits )  
This course examines social, political, literacy, and artistic issues in contemporary France through the study of culture, fiction, and film. This course will be taught in English.
FRT 3800  -  French Translation Skills  (3 Credits )  
This course provides an introduction to the methods of written and oral translation. It covers various styles of language (journalistic, technical, literary, spoken), with emphasis on the difficulties of translating from French to English and English to French.
Prerequisite(s): FRE 2220C or (FRE 2220 and FRE 2220L)
