Experimental Psychology (EXP)

Psychophysical and neurophysiological data and theory underlying sensory systems and perceptual processes.

The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the scientific study of psycholinguistic phenomena. It will cover a broad range of topics from psycholinguistics, including the origin of language, processes involved in reading, computational modeling, the acquisition of language, and the brain bases of language.

Survey of methods, empirical findings and theoretical interpretations in respondent and instrumental conditioning.

Survey of methods, empirical findings and theoretical interpretations of human learning, attention, memory, verbal learning, judgment, and decision making.

To introduce students to the disciplines involved in the study and development of artificial intelligence. A survey of the relationship between psychology, philosophy, computer sciences, and biology as it relates to human-machine interaction.

Selected topics in neuroscience and/or cognitive psychology provides opportunities for in-depth study of topics related to neuroscience and/or cognitive psychology that are not covered in other courses.
