This course will examine best practices in advising in a higher education setting.
EDH 6042  -  Helping Skills in Advising  (3 Credits )  
The development and practice of helping skills for students, parents, in higher education, and student affairs professionals. Students will learn about and practice micro-skills, multicultural competencies, related theories, and ethical implications.
EDH 6044  -  Career Development  (3 Credits )  
Deals with career development process throughout the lifespan, with an emphasis on implications for student affairs, higher education, and academic advising.
EDH 6045  -  Student Development Theory  (3 Credits )  
This course is intended for graduate students to learn about a wide range of student development theories that have described and informed how individuals learn, develop, and grow during their undergraduate college years.
EDH 6057  -  Discovering Higher Ed Research  (3 Credits )  
This course is designed to develop students' ability to use scholarly literature for decision making and research.
EDH 6225  -  Curriculum Develop-Higher Ed  (3 Credits )  
Emphasis on curriculum perspectives, procedures, and practices in higher education; principles of curriculum and instruction in higher education; theory and practices in goal setting, curriculum planning, instructional improvement, and curriculum design.
EDH 6405  -  Law & Policy-Higher Ed  (3 Credits )  
Analysis of law, policies, and political impacts in American Higher Education with applications to Florida public and non-public institutions. Participants develop a topic for further research, evaluation, problem-solving, and presentation.
EDH 6505  -  Finance in Higher Ed  (3 Credits )  
Higher Education Finance focuses on the elements of budgeting, financial statements, investment strategies, fund raising, debt management and how an institution’s strategic plan guides financial decision making.
EDH 6634  -  Stud Personnel Svcs-Higher Ed  (3 Credits )  
This course uses a topical/survey approach to discuss the major student personnel service functions of divisions of student affairs found on college campuses.
EDH 6635  -  Org Structure- Higher Ed  (3 Credits )  
The course emphasizes the nature and function of governing structures, the basic frameworks for organizational analysis, and the role of leadership in the decision making process in higher education.
EDH 6932  -  Special Topics-Higher Ed  (3 Credits )  
Study of current topics and issues related to higher education. Students locate, analyze, and discuss current research.
EDH 7065  -  History/Philosophy - Higher Ed  (3 Credits )  
In this course students will become familiarized students with the history and philosophical constructs of higher education in the United States.
EDH 7367  -  Contemporary Stud Svces  (3 Credits )  
Focuses on the intersectionality of modern-day student affairs/services and development including admissions, enrollment, academic advising, career services, counseling, student health centers, student conduct, housing and residence life, financial aid, orientation, multi-cultural affairs, and student government.
EDH 7408  -  Higher Education Law Seminar  (3 Credits )  
Advanced study of constitutional and statutory law that interfaces with American higher education institutions, with an emphasis on Florida public universities. This course will explore the legal underpinnings of the governance structures and administration of higher education and on the rights and responsibilities of administrators, faculty members, and students.
EDH 7502  -  HE Finance Seminar  (3 Credits )  
The purpose of the course is to review current economic and finance policies critically affecting higher education in the U.S., but particularly in Florida. The major emphasis throughout the course will be on analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating higher education economic and finance policy in terms of their relevance for the continued improvement and development of higher education institutions, programs, and services. Relevant theories and concepts will be covered.

EDH 7935  -  Contemporary Issues in HE  (3 Credits )  
The purpose of the course is to discuss, research, and assess current (and in some cases future) issues, trends, opportunities, and challenges impacting higher education from the perspective of scholars and practitioners.
