Computers General Studies (CGS)

CGS 1100  -  Computer Software & Technology  (3 Credits )  
An introduction to computer hardware and software tools for knowledge workers. Software tools include spreadsheets, word processing, two- and three-dimensional presentation graphics, electronic mail, and network browsers. In addition, the course explores computer information systems in organizations and the use of computers to enhance productivity.

CGS 3102  -  Data Analysis Spreadsheets  (3 Credits )  
The course provides in-depth exposure to intermediate and advanced Excel functions and features for data analysis. Students also learn to automate tasks using Macros and VBA programming language.

CGS 3126  -  Tools for Data Analytics  (3 Credits )  
The course introduces the student to programming and scripting tools used in data analytics to process data and text. Tools currently include Python, Julia, R, and SAS but are subject to change as new tools become popular.
